Dr Stephen Baines
Dr Stephen Baines is currently on the full time staff of The Wesley Reproductive Medicine and Gynaecological Surgery Unit at the Wesley Hospital. He has been interested in reproductive medicine since completing his specialist training in 1991.
Profile
Dr Stephen Baines was educated in South Africa and Zimbabwe and completed
his specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Johannesburg
in 1991.
He immigrated to Australia in 1994 and took up the position of Director of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Maryborough and Hervey Bay Hospitals.
To further his practice in infertility, Dr Baines joined the full time
staff of the Wesley Reproductive Medicine and Gynaecological Surgery Unit
in 2001.
His interests and expertise include male infertility, preimplantation
genetic diagnosis (PGD), polycystic ovarian syndrome, endometriosis and
endoscopic and laser surgery. Although specialising in reproductive medicine,
Dr Baines also practises general gynaecology and pelvic reconstructive
surgery.
