Our goal is to ensure that you, through your referring medical
specialist, have immediate access to the most up-to-date and expert
technologies in this most important venture towards your goal of
parenthood.
Personalised Care :
Patients are managed by their own Clinician throughout their
treatment cycle with regular scans performed to minimise the
risk of ovarian hyper stimulation syndrome.
Several of our Clinicians also practice Obstetrics and are able to
provide ongoing management and support from conception to birth.
Personalised one on one care by experienced nurse coordinators.
Regular contact with nurses for education and support.
Your program will be under the direction of your personal
referring specialist and his/her professional medical colleagues at
all times. Our multi-disciplinary teams of Fertility Specialists,
scientists, nurses, counsellors, technicians and administrative
staff, will work with you to ensure that the program and your
treatment experience runs as smoothly as possible. Our staff are
always available to explain the reasons for the procedures that you
may undertake in the program and help minimise your concerns to
ensure you have the best possible chance of success.

Wesley Monash IVF Staff
Along with our six highly regarded IVF Specialist Clinicians, Wesley
Monash IVF is supported by a dedicated team of nurse coordinators,
scientists, administrative staff, counsellors and pharmacists.
Nurse Coordinators
At Wesley Monash IVF we have 5 highly qualified IVF nurse
coordinators who collectively have many years of experience in
Assisted Reproductive Technology and Women’s Health. Our team of
nurse coordinators is committed to a personalised and individual
patient care approach and provide a supportive and caring service
for which Wesley Monash IVF is renowned.
• Kara Carter is Senior Nurse Coordinator / Team Leader. Kara has a
diverse experience in the field of infertility and has worked as a
nurse practitioner in the USA before moving to Australia and
furthering her career in reproductive medicine. Kara has been
involved in women’s health for over 12 years, the last 4 of which
have been focused in artificial reproductive technology. One of her
greatest joys lies in helping couples achieve their dream of having
a child.
• Cheryl Morton is a senior nurse coordinator and has more than 13
years experience in assisted reproductive technology. Cheryl has a
particular interest in research and has been involved in clinical
trials and product familiarisation programs for new IVF drugs. She
has also taken courses in counselling to assist in providing support
to couples during their IVF journey.
• Angela Banning has over 22 years of nursing experience including
general nursing, midwifery and assisted reproductive technology.
Angela is currently a nurse manager at the Royal Brisbane and
Women’s Hospital as well as an IVF nurse coordinator with Wesley
Monash IVF.
• Karen Dever is a practising midwife as well as an IVF Nurse
Coordinator. Karen has more than 25 years of midwifery experience
and 2 years in assisted reproductive technology. Karen enjoys being
able to assist couples with successful IVF treatment and continue
their care through the intra-natal and postnatal period.
• Tanya Wallace is a practicing midwife and lactation consultant
with more than 20 years of nursing experience. Many of these years
were spent in community and women’s health promotion providing Tanya
with valuable experience to support her important role as IVF Nurse
Coordinator.
Pharmacist
In addition to nursing support we are also one of the first IVF
units to provide the support of an on site qualified registered
pharmacist. Pharmacist Angie Kong works with the Nurse Coordinators
and Clinicians to provide a seamless service of stock control,
dispensing and educating patients on medications. This service
extends to our country patients ensuring comprehensive support for
all patients regardless of where they are located.
Scientists
The IVF laboratory at Wesley Monash IVF has a staff of 3 qualified
scientists who are passionate about their work and have a common
goal of achieving success for patients.
• Laboratory Manager, Tara Launchbury is well qualified to lead her
team with her background of Microbiology and Education and is
currently undertaking studies in a Masters of Reproductive Medicine
through the University of NSW. Tara has previously worked for COOK
Medical – a company leading the way in IVF culture media and Women’s
Health within Australia.
• Marca Nieto is an IVF scientist who has recently joined us from
Spain. Marca previously worked as an IVF scientist in Madrid where
she completed her Masters in Human Reproduction at SEF and
Complutense University in Madrid.
Reception
The reception desk is staffed by 3 knowledgeable and reliable team
members who look after all aspects of customer service including
reception, switchboard and accounts/finance.
• Senior Receptionist, Jennifer Strawson promotes and delivers
excellence in customer service and a genuine warmth and empathy for
patients undergoing treatment.
• Rosemary Kelly has a background in general practice with a wealth
of experience in patient care and reliability in service delivery.
• Also coming from a general practice role, Kerrie Murray has a
passion for communication and customer service.
Operations Manager
The clinic is managed by Cherry Le Ray who has over 20 years
experience in the healthcare industry. With a background in
radiotherapy and oncology, GP practices, aged care and hospitals,
Cherry brings a depth of knowledge in management, HR and quality
systems.
Counsellor
Wesley Monash IVF has a commitment to provide couples undergoing IVF
and related assisted reproductive procedures with a comprehensive
counselling service during the course of their fertility treatment.
The unit’s counsellor is Geraldine Coyne who is a member of ANZICA
(Australian and New Zealand Infertility Counsellors’ Association).
Appointments with Geraldine are available for couples when they
commence infertility treatment and/or throughout their treatment
cycle. Initial appointments enable couples to become acquainted with
the counselling service so they feel more comfortable about referral
in the future, especially if treatments are unsuccessful or if there
is pregnancy loss
